The courage to follow your dreams can be a struggle. It can break your heart. It can also make your life soar.
The great Japanese zen master Dogen said, "When you find your place, practice begins."
Years of mishaps and missteps have put me on a determined path of finding place, finding peace and finding happiness.
I am largely a self taught artist, but my studies never end. Inspiration is everywhere- in the
arms of my family, the owl flying over at night, the tiny baby birds in their nest, the colors
of the sunset, the ebb and flow of water at the beach, and the Japanese garden I walk
by every evening when walking my dog, the sweet scent of spring flowers, my dog's happy smile, and the nostalgic memories of family long departed from this life.
All these things and more crystallize into one moment of pure happiness when I sit
down to create a piece of jewelry. Each piece is made with great focus and joy. Many
are one of a kind pieces that incorporate found objects such as vintage buttons, pebbles, shells and interesting pieces of metal.
Each piece is created with the hope it will bring someone joy and inspiration. When
not creating jewelry, I share my journey in life with my husband and animals in Richmond,
Virginia.
